Quality Controlled PV – Testing and Certifying PV Modules

Quality control in the production of crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules (PV)

We Set Standards with our “Quality Controlled PV” Certification for PV Modules

To ensure the quality, safety and performance of different types of PV, investors, manufacturers and buyers need a standardized approach. The basic certification of PV modules in accordance with IEC 61215 and IEC 61730 can be made more comprehensive. Our “Quality Controlled PV” certification offers a solution. It closes the gap between basic type approval and safety certification with extended stress test protocols and a comprehensive strategy for sustainable performance, material and supplier monitoring.

Our PV Module Certification

Our voluntary certification services as part of the “Quality Controlled PV” offering are a useful tool to clearly identify recognized products and thus stand out from the competition. At the same time, the certification helps to survive in demanding global markets. To prove the integrity of the materials and partners in the supply chain, these are continuously monitored.

Well thought-out test catalog to reliably test PV modules

Based on the requirements of the applicable regulatory and industry standards and going beyond them, we have developed our own test catalog to test PV modules. It specifies criteria in addition to the standard type approval and safety qualification of PV modules.

To ensure a high level of confidence in the reliability and long service life of PV modules, our experts carry out an extended stress test program in accordance with the catalog procedures. It is based on IEC TS 63209-1. We check how manufacturers perform regular quality and monitoring measures using monthly tests of random samples from ongoing production.

Focus on Reliability and Material Properties

Our trained specialist teams check the manufacturers’ material and supplier monitoring programs for all critical components. The focus here is on reliability, material properties and monitoring supplier changes. These criteria are used to check the quality and performance specifications of each PV module. The result is the “Quality Controlled PV” certification, which confirms regular quality monitoring and extended stress and load tests.

We work with you to find the best process for your specific needs and business objectives to help you become more competitive in demanding markets.

The Process of our Quality-tested PV Module Certification

Ensure the PV quality and reliability of your products with our “Quality Controlled PV” certification for PV modules

We offer you comprehensive support for your voluntary quality-controlled PV certification. After the basic safety certification according to IEC 61730, our services are carried out in three parts:

  • Part 1: Extended stress test
  • Part 2: Regular monitoring
  • Part 3: Monitoring of suppliers and materials

The basic safety certification in accordance with IEC 61730 and the extended stress test are prerequisites for parts 2 and 3, which require continuous monitoring at regular intervals. The lead time for certification is approximately six months.

Products that successfully pass the certification for “Quality Controlled PV” receive our globally recognized test mark, which is highly trusted. Our international team of experts will be happy to provide you with one-stop services anytime, anywhere.
