Certification According to QS

Certification According to QS

Quality And Safety For Foodstuffs

The QS inspection system from QS Qualität und Sicherheit GmbH for foodstuff quality is one of the leading quality control systems for meat and meat products, fruit, vegetables, and animal feed. It monitors quality throughout all production stages - from production to processing and retail. With QS certification (for cross-stage quality assurance), you show business partners and clients that they can rely on the quality of your products. On top of that, you also gain competitive advantages in marketing both nationally and internationally. And, launched at the beginning of 2010, we now also offer QS certification for livestock transportation. Just ask our experts!

Benefits At A Glance

QS certification from TÜV Rheinland enables you to:

  • Show your business partners that you place great value on transparency, traceability, and reliability throughout the foodstuff chain
  • Win consumer confidence
  • Commit to a standard level of foodstuff safety valid throughout Europe
  • Confirm the quality of your foodstuff with a neutral seal of approval
  • Set yourself apart from the competition through quality

Six Steps To Greater Foodstuff Quality

Our skilled and experienced experts analyze and evaluate your processes and systems. This involves six steps.

1. Pre-audit

The auditors perform a preliminary audit of your processes to determine whether any requirements associated with this standard have already been implemented in your company and, if so, which ones.

2. Examination of Documentation

The auditing team determines the extent to which the documentation for your quality management system already meets the QS requirements.

3. Audit

You demonstrate the practical application of your quality management system, and our auditors test how effective it is.

4. Issue of Certificate

Once all criteria have been met, your company is awarded the certificate, certifying the integrity of your quality management system and its compliance with the QS requirements.

5. Surveillance Audits

Our annual surveillance audits help you continuously optimize your processes.

6. Certification Renewal

After three years, the audit is repeated for certification renewal, helping you to implement continuous improvement processes. This also demonstrates to partners and clients your long-term commitment to quality throughout the entire foodstuff chain.

Making Foodstuffs Safer

1. QS – “Cross-stage quality assurance”

As a voluntary initiative at all participating levels, QS combines verified quality inspections in all stages of foodstuff production.

2. We know the full life-cycle of your foodstuff!

Where does a foodstuff come from? Where has it been? Every step of production can be tracked using the QS inspection system – from the field and the farmyard to the shop counter.

3. Checked by experts. Valued by consumers.

The same rule applies to all foodstuffs, be it meat and meat products, fruit, vegetables, and potatoes: foodstuffs can only bear the QS inspection seal, if their production has been tracked by the QS system. Consumers who care about where their food comes from value this transparency. It’s something they can trust!

4. Around 120,000 system partners take on the responsibility of earning this trust.

Every facility involved in the production process is regularly inspected to ensure that it complies with the QS criteria for production, transport, storage, and hygiene. Only with binding guidelines for all, can you ensure transparency and gain confidence.

We do not offer or provide management system consultancy by an accredited certification body for management systems. Within the TR Group, we ensure a minimum 2-year interval between management system consultancy and certification activity for the same costumer.
