Product Carbon Reduction for Electrical Products
Why Product Carbon Reduction
As the world grapples with the challenge of global warming, reducing or even neutralizing greenhouse gas emissions has become a critical task. Electronic and electrical products, throughout their lifecycle - from production, manufacture, use, to recycling - generate CO2 emissions.
Product carbon reduction certification service developed by TUV Rheinland is to determine the carbon footprint reduction ratio of the current generation and the previous generation of the product through a strict third-party audit, as well as the carbon reduction ratio in various key links such as raw materials, manufacturing, transportation, use, recycling, etc., and to recognize the efforts made by enterprises in the field of product reduction through a more transparent way.
Process of Carbon Reduction to achieve Carbon Neutrality
The process of achieving carbon neutrality begins with carbon calculation. This involves conducting a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to quantify the total greenhouse gas emissions produced by a product throughout its lifecycle, from production and use to disposal.
Once the carbon footprint is calculated, a carbon reduction plan is formulated. This plan outlines specific strategies and measures to reduce emissions, such as improving energy efficiency , using renewable energy sources, and optimizing manufacturing processes. The effectiveness of these measures is then analyzed and monitored over time.
Finally, any remaining emissions that cannot be eliminated are offset through initiatives such as carbon offset projects or the purchase of carbon credits. This comprehensive approach ensures a systematic reduction of emissions, ultimately leading to carbon neutrality.
