TÜV Rheinland offers a broad testing portfolio that includes many plastic objects, and both materials testing and product testing: packaging, intermediate bulk containers (ICB), bulk packaging for the storage and transportation of dangerous goods, standardized plastic test samples, components, individual component samples or testing of entire products. We can conduct standard-based tests as well as customer-specific tests on thermoplastic, thermoset and elastomer materials or components. Our mechanical-technological tests allow a comprehensive characterization of materials and components. We analyze their mechanical properties and behavior to evaluate their performance and quality. For a detailed examination of materials, we offer thermal and rheological analyses to determine properties such as melting point, thermal conductivity, thermal stability, deformation behavior and flow properties. We also have the equipment to carry out electrical tests and to measure the electrostatic discharge of floors. In addition, we offer suitability verifications for alternative plastic mold formats and evaluate building products in accordance with the applicable regulations and standards.

Our testing laboratory for materials testing, which is part of TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH, is located in the city Halle (Saale), the birthplace of the composer George Frideric Handel. Thanks to its convenient transport network and central location in Germany, you benefit from easy ways to accompany tests or to make on-site arrangements. In addition to being located in the center of an exciting and growing hub of technology and the chemical industry, our site in Halle offers extensive advantages, which are particularly evident in the testing of bulk packaging, the handling of hazardous materials, and storage and retrieval processes. In conjunction with our materials testing laboratory, we are able to offer closed analysis chains for comprehensive product testing.

Our DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation enables us to carry out a wide range of tests, particularly in the field of dangerous goods packaging testing. In addition, we are recognized by BAM as test center for dangerous goods packaging and third-party inspection. Finally, our test laboratory is equipped with drop foundations in various sizes allowing us to carry out extensive tests.
