ISTA Transportation Testing Services

Our experts can provide packaging and transportation testing services according to a number of ISTA packaging testing procedures and requirements.

These include:

  • ISTA 1 Series on non-simulation integrity performance tests – procedures 1A to 1H. These procedures aim at testing the robustness and strength of the combination of packaging and product.
  • ISTA 3 Series on general simulation performance tests – procedures 3A (packaged-products for parcel delivery system shipments of 70kg or less) and 3B (packaged-products for a less-than-truckload shipment).
  • ISTA 2 Series on partial simulation performance tests – procedures 2A to 2C. Packaging solutions are tested with the basic elements of the ISTA 1 Series and at least one element of the ISTA 3 Series, such as vibration or atmospheric conditioning.

Moreover, we can provide numerous packaging services according to other testing standards such as EN or those defined by the ASTM International.

About ISTA

The International Safe Transit Association is an organization focused on the specific concerns of transport packaging and safe product shipping conditions. The ISTA mission is to establish standards and develop informative programs and tools for the economic, social and environmental optimization of packaging solutions. ISTA has also developed the concept of package performance testing and certification. Association members include shippers who manufacture and distribute products, packaging materials suppliers as well as accredited testing laboratories that perform packaged-product performance testing.

In our accredited testing laboratories, we not only test your packaging according to the ISTA standards, but we can also certify your food packaging according to the British Retail Consortium and the Institute of Packaging (BRC/IoP), the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO/GMP) or the European DIN EN 15593 standards.
