Katharina Baran
Katharina Baran, born in 1981, holds a degree in education specializing in adult education from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
She started her career in 2006 at the METRO Group, where she initially worked in various operational HR roles.
In 2011 she moved to the Elevator division of the thyssenkrupp Group. She held various management positions there for strategic and operational units in different HR disciplines as well as having significant responsibility for the global realignment of the HR organization.
In 2017, she was appointed as Managing Director and CHRO for the Europe/Africa region. In addition, she acted as Labor Relations Director and was responsible for the Legal and Health & Safety departments. After the sale and spin-off of the Elevator division from the thyssenkrupp Group, she supported the transformation of TK Elevator Europe Africa into an independent unit on the HR side, for example by establishing expert centers and a shared service center.
Katharina Baran is married and lives near Düsseldorf with her family.
