Wi-Fi Testing and Certification
Wi-Fi Certification by TÜV Rheinland: Advancing with Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7
Compatible and secure with our wireless device testing
At TÜV Rheinland, we understand the critical role of Wi-Fi in today’s interconnected world. Our Wi-Fi testing and certification services encompass the latest advancements, including Wi-Fi 6 (IEEE 802.11ax) and Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be). Wi-Fi 6, known for its increased capacity, higher data rates, and improved performance in environments with many connected devices, is a significant step forward in wireless technology. Wi-Fi 7 further builds on these advancements, offering even higher data rates, lower latency, and greater capacity.
Wi-Fi certification, aligned with Wi-Fi Alliance testing standards, is globally acknowledged. Manufacturers seeking to demonstrate their products’ adherence to standards for interoperability, security, and specific applications find this certification crucial.
Our accredited Wi-Fi testing facilities, authorized by the Wi-Fi Alliance and located in Korea, Japan, and the USA, are fully equipped to handle the comprehensive testing requirements of both Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 technologies.

- Wi-Fi 802.11g (WPA2): Offers increased speeds up to 54 Mbps in the 2.4 GHz band.
- Wi-Fi 802.11h+d (WPA2): Standards that enhance 802.11a for European regulatory compliance (802.11h) and add new capabilities (802.11d).
- Wi-Fi 4(IEEE 802.11n / WPA3/ WPA2): Introduces MIMO technology and operates in both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, offering speeds up to 600 Mbps.
- Wi-Fi 5(IEEE 802.11ac/ WPA3/ WPA2): Provides high throughput in the 5 GHz band with speeds exceeding 1 Gbps.
- Wi-Fi Wi-Fi 6 & 6E (IEEE 802.11ax/ WPA3/ WPA2): The latest standard, known as Wi-Fi 6, operates in both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, offering increased efficiency, capacity, and performance, especially in dense environments. It is also the first to include WPA3 security protocol.
- Wi-Fi 7 (IEEE 802.11be / WPA3/ WPA2): An upcoming standard, expected to further enhance speeds and efficiency, known as Wi-Fi 7.
- Baseline & ASD test by WTE: Wireless Test Equipment (WTE) testing for baseline compliance and Application-Specific Device (ASD) requirements.
- Baseline & ASD test by WTS(Sigma): Sigma testing for baseline and ASD compliance, utilizing the Wi-Fi Alliance's test suite for device interoperability.
Our Wireless Device Testing and Certification Services The “Wi-Fi Certified™” seal represents a product’s successful testing across various configurations and devices. After selecting TÜV Rheinland as your Accredited Test Lab (ATL) on the Wi-Fi Alliance website, choose a preferred testing location and submit our Wi-Fi questionnaire. Obtain a Certification Identification Number (CID) by submitting required documentation to the Wi-Fi Alliance. Products undergo evaluation and testing based on the Wi-Fi Alliance’s test plan, encompassing Wi-Fi 6 and 7 standards. Following successful testing and approval, a report is prepared for the Wi-Fi Alliance’s review.
