TAPA TSR Certification
Protect your high-value road cargo with TAPA trucking security requirements
The safety of goods moving along the supply chain is a key factor in the success of your global business. Over-the-road freight security is of paramount importance in any industry, but especially in the high-tech sector, manufacturers and logistics service providers are expected to implement strong security standards for the vehicular transport of valuable cargo.
To avoid costly losses from cargo crime, the Transport Asset Protection Association (TAPA) has developed two sets of security standards for the transport and handling of high-value, theft-targeted assets: Facility Security Requirements (FSR) and Trucking Security Requirements (TSR) for your truck security. Logistics service providers around the world rely on TAPA TSR to protect their goods with high security standards on the road, where the vast majority of cargo theft – up to 85 percent in North America according to TAPA data – involves trucks. Reduce the risk of cargo crime and gain access to new clients in the high-tech industry with a Level 1 (highest), Level 2 or Level 3 TSR certification.
As one of five organizations authorized to carry out TAPA audits, our specialists are available worldwide to help your organization achieve TSR certification by aligning your trucking operations with industry best practices.

Join TAPA TSR to lower costs and open up new markets in the high-tech sector
Due to the ongoing threat of opportunist criminals and the growing sophistication of globally organized crime, freight and facility security is more important than ever. TAPA TSR focuses exclusively on transport by truck and defines a set of minimum standards for transporting high-value goods that are exposed to an increased risk of theft. TAPA-certified companies are able to substantially strengthen the security of their supply chains and reduce financial losses related to cargo loss. By limiting these risks, you may also gain knock-on benefits such as lower business insurance premiums.
Expand into new markets by demonstrating your commitment to the security of your customers’ products as they are shipped along the road: TAPA TSR opens up avenues of cooperation with global high-tech producers, many of which require a proven security management system from their suppliers in order to maintain their own TAPA-certified status.
Our experts are at your service to help establish a TSR-certified security management system for your trucking logistics. Our qualified auditors rely on their expertise and longstanding experience in the field to ensure that your organization reaps the full benefits of TAPA’s industry-leading TSR standard.
Join the fast-growing community of TAPA-certified professionals
TAPA TSR certifications use checklist-style audits to monitor individual facilities where high-value goods are transported by truck. While these voluntary standards are not part of the formal process for obtaining “TAPA-certified” status, it is strongly recommended that companies employ them as an essential part of the shipper-carrier relationship.
As one of the few auditors authorized to issue TAPA certificates, you can rely on our support to obtain your TSR certification and gain access to a fast-growing community of more than 1000 certified organizations around the world.
According to your needs, TAPA TSR may apply to any or all of the following:
- All cargo to be transported per TSR
- Leased or owned trucks
- Self-operated or subcontracted trucks
- All types of truck designs (tractor-trailers, cargo vans, box trucks, etc.)
Certifications are carried out on a three-year cycle. The process involves an annual self-audit as well as regular physical inspections of trucks in the TSR vehicle register. Any new trucks in the fleet must be added to the register, and a recertification audit must be carried out before the current certificate expires.
