Our Industrial Services division covers the following business areas: pressure equipment and plant engineering, materials handling and mechanical engineering, elevators, electrical engineering and building services, supply chain services, construction engineering, energy and environment, and project management.
The individual services include, for example, the inspection of industrial plants, the monitoring of industrial and infrastructure projects, the inspection of pressure vessels, conveyor technology, elevators, the electronic condition monitoring of roads, construction technology as well as environmental and pollutant analysis.
With pressure vessel testing, the service that represents the origin of systematic technical monitoring in Germany belongs to Industrial Service. Our experts at TÜV Rheinland still test pressure equipment throughout its entire life cycle - from manufacture to safe operation. The portfolio also includes the worldwide certification of products, personnel and manufacturing companies.
Ensuring mobility for people and as an economic factor also in the future, while improving safety for people and goods and reducing environmental influences: these are the goals that TÜV Rheinland's Mobility business unit focuses on. The division is responsible for vehicle testing, rail technology, driving licence testing in Germany, car service and expert opinions, homologation of vehicle components and vehicles, aviation technology, traffic telematics and logistics.
The mobile and stationary vehicle inspection business with around 5.5 million inspections globally every year is a core area TÜV Rheinland’s competencies. TÜV Rheinland conducts general vehicle inspections in various European countries as well as in Argentina and Chile. In Germany TÜV Rheinland operates more than 130 service stations in Bavaria, Berlin, Brandenburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, the Rhineland-Palatinate as well as in the Saarland and carries out more than 2.6 million general inspections every year
The Products area covers the testing of all everyday consumer goods - be they consumer electronics, glass, furniture, textiles, toys, leisure articles, household appliances or food. In addition, there are, for example, tests in the environment and pollutant analysis, controls of the electromagnetic compatibility of electrical and electronic products, machines and medical devices as well as the testing of solar modules, batteries and fuel cells.
Independent product testing by well-respected service providers is sought-after all over the world. Why? Because the globalization of the flow of goods and products continues and product cycles become shorter. The economic development in former emerging markets plays a significant role: consumers have high and new demands. In all this, product testing for consistent high quality, safety and sustainability by neutral third-parties plays a major role.
With our TÜV Rheinland Academy, we support companies and private individuals, for example, with training and qualification offers, seminars for specialists and managers or with further training offers in new occupational fields. Further business segments of the Training and Consulting division are services for the labour market, research and development management, IT security, data protection and information security, business consulting, the operation of private schools and the company's own publishing house, as well as cross-sector HR and project solutions for all personnel management issues.
The Lifecare division offers a comprehensive range of occupational health and safety services as well as comprehensive occupational health management, enabling our customers and their employees to work safely and healthily. In this way, our experts make a lasting contribution to the continuous improvement of the performance and motivation of our employees.
In this area, we bundle services relating to IT, information security and telecommunications. The business segment comprises the IT Services & Cyber Security and support network operators in planning and setting up their telecommunications infrastructures as well as energy suppliers in the development of smart grids. We offer companies and institutions consulting and solution competence in integrated information security - from strategic consulting, conception and process optimization to implementation, operation and certification of the systems.
With analyses, tests and certifications of management systems, the employees in the Systems division are partners for continuous performance improvement in companies. Today's successful and innovative companies need to continually improve, adapt and innovate their systems and processes. The experts in the Systems division accompany companies in these tasks. As independent third parties, TÜV Rheinland employees carry out testing and certification procedures that contribute to improvements in customer organizations. On the basis of the test results, the company can leverage optimization potential in a more targeted and rapid manner and work more systematically on its goals.
