USA - Modification to the List of Appropriate NRTL Program Test Standards and the Scope of Recognition of Several NRTLs

​Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announces the final decision to:

(1) Add seven new test standards to the Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTL) Program's list of appropriate test standards

- UL 970 Standard for Retail Fixtures and Merchandise Displays.
- UL 62841-2-17 Electric Motor-Operated Hand-Held Tools, Transportable Tools and Lawn and Garden Machinery--Safety--Part 2-17:Particular Requirements for Hand-Held Routers.
- UL 62841-4-1 Electric Motor-Operated Hand-Held Tools, Transportable Tools And Lawn And Garden Machinery - Safety - Part 4-1: Particular Requirements For Chain Saws.
- UL 62841-4-2 Electric Motor-Operated Hand-Held Tools, Transportable Tools and Lawn and Garden Machinery - Safety - Part 4-2: Particular Requirements for Hedge Trimmers
- CSA/ANSI C22.2 No. 336 Particular Requirements For Rechargeable Battery-Operated Commercial Robotic Floor Treatment Machines With Traction Drives
- UL 61730-1 Photovoltaic (PV) Module Safety Qualification - Part 1: Requirements for Construction
- UL 61730-2 Photovoltaic (PV) Module Safety Qualification - Part 2: Requirements for Testing

(2) Delete or replace several test standards from the NRTL Program's list of appropriate test standards:

- UL 2231-1 Personnel Protection Systems for Electric Vehicle (EV) Supply Circuits; Part 1: General Requirements
- UL 2231-2 Personnel Protection Systems for Electric Vehicle (EV) Supply Circuits: Particular Requirements for Protection Devices for Use in Charging Systems
- UL 224 Extruded Insulating Tubing
- UL 969 Standard for Marking and Labeling Systems
- UL 1332 Standard for Organic Coatings for Steel Enclosures for Outdoor Use Electrical Equipment
- UL 1441 Coated Electrical Sleeving
- UL 1446 Systems of Insulating Materials - General
- UL 61010A-2-042 Safety Electrical Equipment for Laboratory Use; Part 2: Particular Requirements for Autoclaves and Sterilizers Using Toxic Gas for the Treatment of Medical Materials and for Laboratory Processes

(3) Update the scope of recognition of several NRTLs.
