US - Vermont Requires to Report Three More PFAS in Children's Products
Vermont Department of Health adds three more per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the List of Chemical of high concern to children rule (CHCC Rule) with a practical quantification limit (PQL) of 0.001 ppm, effective July 1, 2022.
- Perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS)
- Perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA)
- Perfluorononanoic acid (PFNA)
Manufacturer must submit a report when the children's product contains a chemical of high concern to children. A children's product means a consumer product marketed for use by, marketed to, sold, offered for sale, distributed to children under 12 years of age.
Each report is based on a chemical. As there are total 89 chemicals in the List, a manufacturer can submit a maximum of 89 reports per reporting year.
Together with perfluorooctanyl sulphonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), there are total 5 PFAS in the list. The coming reporting deadline is of July 31, 2022.
