Peru - Draft Technical Regulation on Recyclable Plastic Tableware and/or Utensils

​Peru Ministry of Production announces the Draft Technical Regulation on Recyclable Plastic Tableware and/or Utensils.

The purpose of the draft technical regulation is to establish the technical and labeling requirements that must be met in the manufacture, import, distribution, delivery and marketing of recyclable plastic tableware and/or utensils for food and beverages for human consumption within the framework of Law No. 30884, the Law that regulates single-use plastic and disposable containers or packaging, so that it does not generate contamination by microplastics or hazardous substances; also, to prevent and mitigate the risks and negative impacts​ on the environment and health within the framework of a circular economy, as well as to reduce information asymmetry in the consumer chain.
