Malaysia - IPv6 Test Report will be Required for New and Renewal Type Approval

​Malaysia SIRIM had announced that interim approval for IPv6 cellular equipment without a WiFi interface or IPv6 equipment over other mediums (e.g: fiber optic etc. except Ethernet LAN), currently in place, which ends on 10th July 2025, will not be extended. Full approval shall be granted after 10th July 2025, provided that applicants submit a complete IPv6 test report, including for non-Wi-Fi-enabled products.
Therefore, the renewal of the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) will not be permitted unless an IPv6 test report is submitted for SIRIM's evaluation. Full approval will only be granted if IPv6 over cellular interfaces or other applicable mediums fully meets IPv6 requirements.
For Wi-Fi-enabled products, testing may be conducted at any IPv6 accredited laboratory.
Meaning that, previously those Cellular only product are accepted interim without IPV6 test report.
Now all those product must have IPV6 test report to apply type approval.
And renewal for previous accepted product will need to have IPV6 test report upon renewal.​
