Jordan - Draft Technical Regulation on Ecodesign Requirement for Refrigerating Appliances

Recently ​Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) notified WTO on a draft Technical Regulation on the ecodesign requirement for refrigerating appliances.​

1. This Regulation establishes ecodesign requirements for the placing on the market of or the putting into service of electric mains-operated refrigerating  appliances with a total volume of more than 10 liters and less than or equal to 1500 liters.
2. This Regulation does not apply to:
a. professional refrigerated storage cabinets and blast cabinets, with the exception of professional chest freezers;
b. refrigerating appliances with a direct sales function;
c. mobile refrigerating appliances;
d. appliances where the primary function is not the storage of foodstuffs through refrigeration.
