Japan - Revised Positive List for Food Contact Materials

​Japan Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) recently published an updated approved positive list of substances for use in food contact materials. They include: base polymer resins, base polymer resin additives of polymeric nature, trace monomers and additives.

The MHLW has also confirmed a migration limit of 0.01 milligram per kilogram (mg/kg) for polymer resins and additives not on the positive list.
