Japan - Amendment Basic policy regarding the Collection, Transportation and Recycling of Household Appliance Waste

​Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) announces an amendment to the Notice on Policy on Collection, Transportation and Recycling of Household Appliance Waste.

This amendment shall set the goal in the basic policy to increase the total collection rate to 70.9% or higher by 2030.  

The amendment shall revise the goal of the collection rate of air conditioners to 53.9% or higher.

This amendment clarifies the need to proceed with the development of technology for recycling the glass contained in OLED TV.
