Indonesia - Draft Decree of Minister of Industry on Mandatory Indonesia National Standard (SNI) for Glazed Ceramic–Tableware, Closets, and Ceramic Tiles

​This draft Decree states that all Glazed Ceramic – Tableware, Closets, and Ceramic Tiles produced within the country or imported, distributed and marketed in the country shall fulfil the national SNI standard. The producers and or importers therefore shall have Product Certificate for using SNI Marking and shall comply with the requirements of SNI.
The product certificate on SNI marking shall be issued by a Product Certification Body which has been appointed by the Minister of Industry through:
a. Testing of the conformity of the products quality against SNI requirements;
b. Audit on the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS)
SNI ISO 9001-2008 or its revision; or other recognized Quality Management system.
The testing shall be carried out by testing laboratories which have been appointed by the Minister of Industry Republic of Indonesia.
Directorate General for Agriculture and Chemical Based Industry, Ministry of Industry is the institution that is responsible for the implementation of this decree and shall provide which technical guidance of the decree, which cover procedure of Product Certification and SNI Marking.
Glazed Ceramic – Tableware, Closets and Ceramic Tiles which are distributed in domestic market that originated domestically and imported shall meet requirements which consist in SNI for Glazed Ceramic – Tableware, Closets and Ceramic Tiles, specify for term and definition, type, quality requirements, sampling, testing method, testing acceptance, marking requirements and packaging.
