Toys (Quality Control) order 2020.
This order shall apply to (toys) product or material designed or clearly intended, whether or not exclusively, for use of children under age of 14 years.
This order shall also apply to toys as they are initially received by children and, in addition this, shall apply after a toy is subjected to reasonably foreseeable conditions of normal use and abuse unless specifically noted otherwise.
This order will not be applicable for toys that are intended for export from India.
The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade issued a notification for toys on February 25, 2020.
This order will come into force on 01/09/2020,
Mandatory ISI marking of bureau of Indian standards (BIS) is required as per required Indian standards. Table of standards are attached.
ISI marking process involves -Documentation, Factory audit by BIS auditors and Testing of samples at BIS accredited lab.
