India - Procedure for Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment (MTCTE), Version 2.1, 2021
India MTCTE published new version 2.1 of the Procedure for Mandatory Testing & Certification of Telecommunication Equipment.
It supersedes the Procedure for Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunications Equipment (MTCTE), version 2.0, 2018.
In order to maintain the supply chain management, OEMs/AIRs have been provided one-time relaxation of six months up to November 30, 2021, from printing revised TEC certification labeling information on telecom/related ICT products, certified in MTCTE Phase-1 and Phase-2.
However, labeling guidelines as per version 2.0, 2018 shall remain in force up to November 30, 2021, for all the products notified in phase-I and II which means OEMs will have the option to choose out of old/new labeling requirements during this intervening period i.e. up to November 30, 2021.
Further, it shall be mandatory to comply with the revised MTCTE procedure (ver 2.1) guidelines from December 01, 2021 onwards. There has been addition in the information TEC logo.
Other changes in the document are -
- Administrative fees details has been illustrated
- Tables containing the products details which are not part of MTCTE has been modified
-The dispatch of consignment of Telecom equipment from foreign port shall be treated as date of import.
- Point of acceptance of ILAC MRA reports for technical parameters other than safety and EMC has been included.
As per TEC notification seperately it was informed that at present safety and EMC parameters are required to be tested in TEC CAB and other parameters ILAC test reports may be accepted till June 30, 2021.
