India - Draft Safety of Household, Commercial & Similar Electrical Appliances (Quality Control) Order, 2023

​This draft Order - Safety of Household, Commercial & Similar Electrical Appliances (Quality Control) Order, 2023, was recently published.

It shall apply to all electrical appliance intended for household, commercial or similar application with rated voltage not exceeding 250V single phase ac or 415V three phase ac and which do not fall under the scope of any other Quality Control Order issued under the BIS Act.

Goods or articles specified in the Order shall conform to the corresponding Indian Standard, and shall bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau as per Scheme-1 of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.
