Expert group EK5/AK1 “Scaffoldings, Ladders, and Stepstools" updates the below test principles:

Test Principles for the safety of leaning ladders

(Previous: EK5/AK1 17-01.2:2020-03)

EK5/AK1 17-02.4:2021-06

Test Principles for the safety of standing ladders

(Previous: EK5/AK1 17-02.3:2020-03)                

EK5/AK1 17-03.3:2021-06

Test Principles for the Safety of combination ladders

(Previous: EK5/AK1 17-03.2:2020-03)

Main changes compared to the previous versions are:

Decision (26.05.2021) No. 129 added:

Enquiry about the design for the simultaneous use of steps and rungs within one riser of a ladder.

Decision (26.05.2021) No. 130 added:

Cross-sections for wooden rungs (EN 131-2:2017-04, 4.7).

Decision (26.05.2021) No. 131 added:

Lateral deflection for combination ladders (EN 131-2:2017-04, 5.4).

The above mentioned test principles are valid from 2021-07-01.

Implementation category C: implementation after max. 3 months, old certificates cancel within 5 years.
