Egypt - ES 2501-1 Adopted for Audio/Video and IT Equipment

​The new version of Audio/Video and IT equipment standard ES 2501-1, is adopted by Ministerial Decree No. 7 /2025 on Jan-01, 2025. It gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 2501-1 "Audio/video, information and communication technology equipment - Part 1: Safety requirements". 

This standard cancels and supersedes the Egyptian standard ES 2501.

Worth mentioning is that this standard adopts the technical content of IEC 62368-1/2023.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.
Date of adoption: January 1, 2025.
Date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
