Ecuador - Technical Regulation RTE INEN 199 "Dentistry Equipment" - Repealed

​The Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries of Ecuador published the Resolution 20001 on January 3, 2020, repealing the Technical Regulation RTE INEN 199 "Dentistry equipment".

It applies to the following types of dentistry equipment marketed in Ecuador, whether domestically manufactured or imported:

-High and medium-volume suction systems;

-Dental lamps;

-Tungsten and quartz halogen lamps;

-Light-emitting diode (LED) lamps.

The repeal of RTE INEN 199 is justified due to non-compliance with WTO requirements for issuing local Technical Regulations.
