China - National Standard of the P.R.C., Road Vehicles – World Manufacturer Identifier (WMI) Code

​The State Administration for Market Regulation (Standardization Administration of the P.R.C.) has published the National Standard of the P.R.C., Road Vehicles – World Manufacturer Identifier (WMI) Code.

This standard stipulates the content and composition of WMI. WMI is the first part of vehicle identification number (VIN) described in GB 16735. This standard applies to vehicles and noncomplete vehicles, trailers, motorcycles and mopeds. Other vehicles that need to be marked with VIN can refer to this standard
