Chile - Draft Protocol for the Analysis and/or Safety Tests of Electrical Product PE Nº1/26:2023 Air Conditioners

The SEC (Superintendencia de Electricidad y Combustibles) recently notified WTO regarding a draft Protocol for the Analysis and/or Safety Tests of Electrical Product PE Nº1/26:2023 Air conditioners​.​

This draft protocol establishes the safety certification procedure for air conditioners for domestic use and similar purposes set out in the IEC 60335-2-40 standard, whose maximum nominal voltages do not exceed 300 V for single-phase, direct expansion gas appliances. refrigerant, divided type or unit type, without air distribution through ducts, up to a thermal power of 12kW (42000Btu/h) and that are air-cooled. Also applies to electric heat pumps for air conditioning.​
