Canada - Notice 2024-DRS0012 Adoption of ANSI C63.2-2023 and ANSI C63.10a-2024

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) is proposing to adopt the following standards:

- ANSI C63.2-2023, American National Standard for Specifications of Electromagnetic Interference and Field Strength Measuring Instrumentation in the Frequency Range 9 kHz to 40 GHz
- ANSI C63.10a-2024, American National Standard of Procedures for Compliance Testing of Unlicensed Wireless Devices, Amendment 1

For ANSI C63.10a-2024, a transition period of one year is proposed, during which time either the previous edition or that edition modified per this amendment may be used for demonstrating compliance with ISED requirements.
After the transition period expires, new certifications shall use ANSI C63.10-2020 + Corrigendum 1-2023 + Amendment 1-2024.
This amendment extends the frequency range to 750 GHz and updates various procedures: frequency stability, emissions maximization for millimeter wave devices, ultra wideband devices, unlicensed national information infrastructure devices.

For ANSI C63.2-2023, a transition period of six months is proposed, because this standard includes the existing requirements in ANSI C63.4-2014 and CISPR 16-1-1 editions adopted in various ISED standards.

Comments related to these adoptions may be submitted before November 29, 2024.
