TÜV Rheinland Attends International Conference on Display Technology 2024

On April 1-3, 2024, International Conference on Display Technology (ICDT 2024) was held at the Hefei Binhu International Convention and Exhibition Center. TÜV Rheinland Greater China, an international independent third-party testing, inspection and certification organization, attended this event as a strategic partner. During the event, TÜV Rheinland signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Society for Information Display (SID), and released the Whitepaper on Screen Privacy Protection of Display Devices; TÜV Rheinland also delivered a keynote report at the Human Factor and Visual Health Special Forum, and invited strategic partners to deliver four keynote speeches.

As an annual international display technology event, ICDT 2024, with the theme of "I see display trend", attracted the research staff of the global institutes of higher learning and research, as well as technicians and managers of the enterprises to explore the development trend of the global display industry and promote the high-quality development of the global display industry, especially in China.

TÜV Rheinland joins hands with industry partners to promote high-quality development of the display industry

On the first day, TÜV Rheinland and SID signed a strategic cooperation memorandum, stipulating that both sides would jointly carry out basic research and technical exchanges, conduct in-depth cooperation in the formulation of whitepapers and standards, application and promotion of technical solutions, market development, etc., integrate their respective resources and advantages, provide its customers with overall solutions, satisfy the technical requirements for industry development, and guide the standard and scientific development of the display industry.

During the same period, TÜV Rheinland invited a number of industry experts to deliver keynote speeches and share their latest research results in the display field. Ming Luo (Ronnier), Professor of Color and Imaging Science at Zhejiang University, gave a comprehensive and detailed interpretation of display color management and quality evaluation technology; Andrew Stockman, the Steers Professor of Investigative Eye Research at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, focused on display color customization; Zhao Chaoyi, Principal Ergonomics Researcher at China National Institute of Standardization and Deputy Director of the Key Laboratory of Human Factors and Ergonomics for National Market Regulation, shared his findings on refresh rate human factors research; Pekka Laiho, a senior expert in the field of AR/VR testing and Chief Commercial Officer of OptoFidelity, analyzed the key role and measurement methods of head tracking performance of ARXR devices.

At the Human Factor and Visual Health Special Forum held on the second day, Stanley Liu, Global Technical Director of Display Products at TÜV Rheinland, delivered a keynote report "Establish a Standardized Human Factor Research Platform to Promote the Healthy Development of the Display Industry”. He stated that the standard human factor research platform would concentrate the resources of hospitals, universities and research institutions to solve the core pain points in technological development from the two dimensions of visual health and visual comfort, supporting the development of product standards and guiding the long-term and healthy development of the display industry.

TÜV Rheinland releases the Whitepaper on Screen Privacy Protection of Display Devices

In the wave of digitalization, as the demand for mobile office continues to rise, mobile portable devices such as laptops have become indispensable assistants for business people. However, this also makes the privacy concerns with the screens more prominent. To help solve this pain point, TÜV Rheinland released the Whitepaper on Screen Privacy Protection of Display Devices, which provides an in-depth analysis on the limitations of current screen protection technology and the latest advances in privacy technology.

The Whitepaper also introduces TÜV Rheinland’s dynamic privacy filter certification and customer experience evaluation services. By balancing the privacy effect and optical performance, while taking into account ambient lighting, user distance and privacy view angle, this service provides the users with a solution that does not require compromise between privacy protection and visual experience, and is convenient and flexible in different environments, thus effectively protecting screen privacy.

Also, TÜV Rheinland invited Wang Yonghui, Senior Engineer of the Commercial Laptop Division of its partner Lenovo to share Lenovo’s experience and plans in the field of laptop screen privacy protection.
