TÜV Rheinland Awards Hisense Laser Cinema with Low Blue Light Certification
Greater China | 09 September, 2024

On September 6, 2024, during the IFA Berlin, TÜV Rheinland Group, an international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization, awarded the Low Blue Light Certificate to Laser Cinema (Model: PX3, PX3-PRO, PX3TUK and PX3TUK-PRO) from the Hisense Laser Display Co. Ltd. Dr. Liu Xianrong, Chief Scientist and General Manager of Hisense Laser Display Co. Ltd, Zsolt Pesze, Managing Director of TÜV Rheinland Hungary attended the certificate ceremony.
TÜV Rheinland's testing includes spectral analysis and color gamut evaluation. The blue light spectrum emitted by the tested Hisense laser products is concentrated within the range of 459-471 nm, which does not include potentially harmful blue light in the 415-445 nm band. Studies have identified the 415-445 nm wavelength range as particularly damaging to retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells and cone photoreceptors. Additionally, the awarded Hisense laser technologies boast a high color gamut of up to 110% BT.2020.
Zsolt Pesze stated: “Prolonged exposure to blue light emitted by screens can lead to eye strain, discomfort, and even long-term vision problems. The Low Blue Light certification ensures that Hisense's displays significantly reduce harmful blue light emissions, providing a safer and more comfortable viewing experience for users.”
The rise in digital device usage has led to increasing concerns over digital eye strain, headaches, and disrupted sleep patterns caused by excessive blue light exposure. TÜV Rheinland’s Low Blue Light Certification has emerged as a trusted benchmark for consumers looking for safer screen experiences. Hisense’s achievement of this certification reinforces the company’s leadership in creating products that prioritize health and safety while delivering premium visual experiences.
As a global leading technical service provider, TÜV Rheinland has been developing services and solutions for the display industry for decades. Testing standards and certification solutions such as low blue light, reflection free, flicker free, paper-like display, high gaming performance, circadian friendly, color volume, dynamic privacy filter, and sustainability-related standards and certification services have been developed for all kinds of display products, which have been widely recognized by the industry. In the future, TÜV Rheinland will continue to provide technical solutions for quality evaluation and user experience issues in industrial development. The company aims to guide the display industry in continuously improving technology and provide guidance for consumers in purchasing safe and high-quality products.
