Greater China | 22 November, 2024

Recently, TÜV Rheinland Greater China, an international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization (hereinafter referred to as "TÜV Rheinland"), awarded four Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) declarations to Jiangxi Hungpai New Material Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jiangxi Hungpai"). These declarations cover four sulfur-containing silane products: HP-1589, HP-1589C, HP-669, and HP-669C. TÜV Rheinland conducted a “cradle-to-gate” lifecycle data identification, collection, verification, and quantification assessment for these products in accordance with the international standard ISO 14067:2018 for product carbon footprints.

Guan Qian, Vice General Manager of TÜV Rheinland Greater China Hardlines, expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with Jiangxi Hungpai in the field of sustainable development. He noted that the carbon footprint calculation provides a data foundation for Hungpai 's green transformation and marks a positive start for disclosing environmental information externally. TÜV Rheinland will further assist Hungpai in exploring carbon reduction potential and setting reduction pathways and targets to better meet domestic and international environmental requirements.

Founded in 1995, Jiangxi Hungpai specializes in the research, development, production, and sales of silicon-based new materials, including functional silanes, aerogel insulation materials, fumed silica, compound silicone rubber, and nano-silicon materials. Its products are widely used in industries such as automotive, rubber products, adhesives, coatings, composites, copper-clad laminates, construction, and medical and pharmaceutical sectors.

By calculating their product carbon footprint, Jiangxi Hungpai gains insights into greenhouse gas emissions during production processes, allowing for the formulation of more effective emission reduction measures. This initiative not only reflects the company's commitment to social responsibility and sustainable development but also addresses the growing market demand for environmental transparency. Through carbon footprint assessments, companies can enhance their competitiveness in the global sustainability movement.

As the world intensifies efforts to combat climate change, accurate environmental information disclosure becomes increasingly critical. TÜV Rheinland leverages its extensive experience and expertise in lifecycle assessment, environmental impact evaluation, and green transformation to provide clients focused on energy conservation and low-carbon emissions with green solutions since 2010. Currently, TÜV Rheinland offers services for collecting lifecycle environmental impact data across various sectors including raw materials, textiles, chemicals, electrical and electronics, construction, etc. Looking ahead, TÜV Rheinland aims to continue providing professional one-stop market services to help businesses achieve their "dual carbon" goals and foster high-quality development of an environmentally friendly economy.
