United Kingdom - Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016

Open the doors to the United Kingdom with UKCA certification of Pressure Equipment

The ‘Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016’ set out the requirements which must be met before products within their scope can be placed on the UK market. Manufacturers and installers need to prove safety of their products by meeting the ‘essential health and safety requirements’. ‘Schedule 1’ of the regulations determine pressure equipment and assemblies excluded from the Regulations. Moreover, the ‘assembly of pressure equipment on the site of and under the responsibility of a user who is not the manufacturer’ are out of scope. The regulations also define the roles and state the obligations of manufacturers, importers or distributors of the products and the applicable conformity assessment procedures. The UK will allow CE marked pressure equipment and assemblies that have been either self-declared as compliant (where permissible) or where compliance must and has been demonstrated through assessment by an EU-recognized conformity assessment body (notified body) to be placed on the GB market until 31 December 2022. Different requirements may apply in Northern Ireland. TUV Rheinland is a UK Approved Body for the ‘Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016’. Make use of our long-term experience as a Notified Body to the EU Pressure Equipment Directive (2014/68/EU) and ask how we can help you efficiently secure pressure equipment approval for your products !
