United Kingdom - Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016
Open the doors to the United Kingdom with UKCA certification according to EMC-regulations
The ‘Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016’ set out the requirements that must be met before products can be placed on the UK market. The purpose of the legislation is to ensure safe products are placed on the UK market by requiring manufacturers to show how their products meet the ‘essential requirements’. The essential requirements are that equipment must be designed and manufactured to ensure that a) the electromagnetic disturbance generated does not exceed the level above which radio and telecommunications equipment or other equipment cannot operate as intended; and b) the equipment has a level of immunity to the electromagnetic disturbance to be expected in its intended use which allows it to operate without unacceptable degradation of its intended use.* Excluded from the regulations are equipment covered by other regulations and e.g. specific radio or aeronautical equipment. Different requirements may apply in Northern Ireland. *Source: UK ‘Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016’ TÜV Rheinland is accredited for EMC-related services in many countries and a UK Approved Body for the UK ‘Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations 2016’.
