UAE - MOIAT Emirates Quality Mark (EQM)

The Emirates Quality mark certification program prescribes requirements for product quality and safety of various consumer products. The EQM stands for a product certification scheme implemented by MOIAT (Formerly named as ESMA) as mandated by federal law 28 of 2001. Notified Bodies are appointed to issue the Certificate of Conformity on behalf of MOIAT. After validating compliance with UAE national product regulations an authorization in the form of an EQM Certificate of Conformity is issued by e.g. TÜV Rheinland to the applicant. Both manufacturers and traders may apply for the EQM approval. Besides the products under mandatory MOIAT-scope, e.g. the following products and aspects may be certified on a voluntary basis: Low Voltage Equipment (LVE), Petroleum products (Lubricating oils), Perfumes, Cosmetics, Detergents, Energy Efficiency (EESL), Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS), Food Contact Materials (FCM).
