Qatar - MoPH-FSD CoC for Food Consignments
Activate your business with our smooth and reliable CoC services
To ensure the safety and quality of food products entering the Qatar market, the Ministry of Public Health - Food Safety Department (MoPH-FSD) of Qatar implemented the 'Certificate of Conformity' (CoC) program. MoPH-FSD requires a (CoC) to be issued by an approved third party, through Pre-Shipment Inspection in the country of origin or country of export. Shipments with CoCs from an approved third party will speed up the inspection procedures for relevant consignments to be released in Qatar. TÜV Rheinland is eligible from January 10th 2023 to handle all the steps of verifying the conformity & issuing the CoC:
Checking conformity of food establishments that produce food intended for export in the country of origin by inspection.
Checking compliance of the food itself with the requirements of Qatar Technical Regulations and Standards.
Verifying loading of the consignment to ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
Issuance of CoC for consignments that comply with the requirements in accordance with the requirements of the relevant guide.
Any consignment of the regulated products not accompanied with a CoC or that with a CoC issued by a non-approved third party will be subject to mandatory inspection at the Qatari boarder and samples will be taken for testing at local laboratory. Therefore, CoC for a shipment will avoid delays due to local inspection & testing or even the risk of a shipment being rejected if the products are found to be non-compliant.
