USA - Field Evaluation Services on Explosion Protection
Show compliance for your Electric Powered Industrial Equipment with our Field Evaluation Services on Explosion Protection
Electric Powered Industrial Equipment, used in areas containing explosive or flammable materials or atmospheres, must be designed to prevent any operation of the equipment from igniting the potential explosive atmosphere. Underwriter Laboratories (UL) writes standards for safety that are compatible with the U.S. National Electric Code (NEC) and National Fire Protection Association standard NFPA 70, as well as any other nationally recognized installation, building and safety codes. Standards for safety, among others, describe the explosion protection techniques that equipment to be used in potential explosive environments must meet. Only products successfully tested by an Internationally Recognized Testing Laboratory, like TÜV Rheinland, are eligible to bear the relevant approval labeling including classification of intended use. As a part of our Field Evaluation Services, we verify the suitability of explosion protection evidences from any Internationally Recognized Testing Laboratory on a component level, and the adequate assembly of the components on a system level. The Field Evaluation Service (FES) concludes with a FES-report and, upon a positive test result, with a ‘Field Label’.
