The TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Training Program was founded in 2004 in cooperation with multinational enterprises. In the past 20 years this training program has supported engineers and technicians in gaining and extending their knowledge in Functional Safety according to the international relevant standards IEC 61508 and IEC 61511 and further application related standards.
In 2017 the new TÜV Rheinland Cybersecurity Training Program has additionally been set up focusing on Cybersecurity for Industrial IT (industrial security / automation security). This training program follows the same concept as the Functional Safety training program. TÜV Rheinland cooperates here also with international companies and course providers whose service portfolio refers to “safety/security”.
The TÜV Rheinland FS & CySec Training Program is the only worldwide extended vocational training program in the area of Functional Safety & Cybersecurity where knowledge and competencies are approved of by a third neutral party and where certificates are issued.
By now more than 30 international companies and their safety / security experts support this program. All trainers as well as the training and exam material are approved by TÜV Rheinland.
Since today more than 30,000 engineers have participated in the various training courses of the TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety & Cybersecurity Training Program. All successful participants have obtained the worldwide acknowledged FS Engineer, FS Technician or CySec Specialist and CySec Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate.
