Cybersecurity Technician – CySec Technician (TÜV Rheinland)

The TÜV Rheinland Cybersecurity Training Program offers training courses targeted to technicians, engineers, foremen, skilled workers of operators and service providers who are primarily involved in the implementation, operation, maintenance, and management of IACS in the field.

These training courses consider practical exercises in which selected measures from the theoretical part are applied and implemented in a laboratory environment.

All training courses end with an exam and successful participants will get the "Cybersecurity Technician (TÜV Rheinland)" certificate.

• Cybersecurity Technician - Implementation

All holders of a valid CySec Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate are listed at the CERTIPEDIA – Certificate Database from TÜV Rheinland here.

Participants have to attend the complete training, fulfill defined requirements and need to pass the exam, taking place at the end of each training. Only if these requirements are fulfilled the CySec Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate is issued depicting the individual ID number and the application area or topic of the training attended.

Participants, who have already attended the training "Fundamentals of Cybersecurity" and passed the exam - only have to attend the practical exercises part and the exam referring to the practical part (subject to availability). The "Letter of Confirmation - Fundamentals of Cyber Security" issued by TÜV Rheinland is mandatory as proof.

The following requirements should be fulfilled:

1. Basic knowledge of IACS, industrial communication protocols, and functional safety.
2. Proof of a technical education/training or degree/certificate.
3. Participation in the complete 3-5-day training.
4. Passing of exam with at least 75 % score rate.

Participating in the exam only will not grant issue of the CySec Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate.

The CySec Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate will be sent in electronic form as pdf-file by email to each certificate holder.

The CySec Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate confirms that:

• the person has participated continuously in a training of the TÜV Rheinland Cybersecurity Program concerning a specified topic,
• has successfully passed the final exam of this training,
• has obtained specified knowledge, which he can integrate to his daily work,
• has obtained the title "CySec Technician (TÜV Rheinland)" concerning the specified topic within the Cyber Security (CySec) Training Program.

• The CySec Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate is valid for 5 years.
• The certificate can be extended for further 5 years.
• Costs for a new and extended certificate are € 400 + VAT.

To extend the validity of the CySec Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate the following documents have to be sent by each holder to TÜV Rheinland:

1. an official letter from his employer or from a customer, in which their current and continuous work in the specified area of certification is described and/or confirmed;
2. a form sheet filled in with all necessary information describing projects which have been carried out during the last 5 years of his professional life describing his experience in Cybersecurity.
