The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) is an important milestone for responsible business. For the first time, the new law places companies under an obligation to ensure compliance with internationally recognized human rights in their own company and in the supply chain. This requires new knowledge and new processes to act in a legally compliant manner.
Smaller companies with fewer than 3,000 or 1,000 employees should also familiarize themselves with the law, because large customers expect compliance in the supply chain or even oblige their smaller suppliers and vendors to comply via contractual GTCs. Without compliance and, in particular, proof of compliance with the Supply Chain Act, new suppliers will no longer get on customers' panels. They will not receive any new orders. Adherence to compliance requirements creates trust and transparency and strengthens your company.
