TÜV Rheinland supports the Radisson Hotel Group on its path to lowering greenhouse gas emissions
The Radisson Hotel Group, a leading global hotel chain, aims to create transparency about its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and reduce its carbon footprint by 50 percent by 2030. Like TÜV Rheinland, it is a member of the “Sustainable Hospitality Alliance”, an association of companies in the hospitality industry committed to greater sustainability in their sector.
To help achieve its goals, the Radisson Hotel Group brought TÜV Rheinland on board as an independent partner. For example, they wanted to calculate CO2 emissions along the supply and service chains in accordance with globally applicable standards, specifically the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol and the ISO 14064 standard. “With our knowledge of these standards and our expertise, we can verify whether the data on greenhouse gas emissions determined by a company are accurate, complete and reliable,” explains Jia Liu, who with her team verifies customers' greenhouse gas emissions at TÜV Rheinland. This way, sustainability commitments can be verified in a transparent manner and greenwashing can be avoided.

Our greenhouse gas emissions services

As an independent third party, TÜV Rheinland provides assurance that data such as those regarding greenhouse gas emissions and the associated reports and statements are being verified. Corporate carbon footprint verification (CCF verification) is an assessment process that ensures that the reported greenhouse gas data are accurate, complete, and reliable. This requires the use of appropriate measures to reduce any gaps and uncertainties in the data. The verification process involves assessing and calculating the probability of data errors, omissions and misrepresentations to ensure that they remain below an acceptable threshold.
