We are supporting the shift to alternative concepts such as electric mobility, gas and hydrogen propulsion with new and enhanced services. In our state-of-the-art battery testing center, we examine battery cells, modules and packs for the automotive industry regarding issues such as durability and load capacity.

Public transportation plays a key role in the shift toward sustainable mobility. Compared to passenger cars, they take up less space and generate fewer emissions per person. In addition, they do not occupy inner-city parking spaces. Moreover, bus fleets, for example, are ideally suited to the adoption of low-emission fuel cell and battery-powered drive systems, as the scheduled vehicles cover a calculable daily distance and stop at specified locations. With comprehensive testing and certification services, we are setting important foundations for the shift toward these sustainable mass transit models.

And something else is emerging: the future of public transportation is driverless. Autonomous people movers are already in use in several cities. For many of these pilot projects, we played a key role in mapping the autonomous driving routes and obtaining approval for test or even serial operation (!) on public roads.
