Initial situation and requirements
During construction of a 10 MW solar power plant, Shamsuna sought an experienced and recognized partner to provide comprehensive technical consultancy services in the role of independent engineer on site in the coastal city of Aqaba. They turned to TÜV Rheinland.

We provided Shamsuna expert technical advice, oversaw construction, monitored testing, reviewed procedures, calculated export capacity and measured PV modules and noise emission. We also supervised acceptance testing as well as issued certifications of the mechanical completion and commercial operation date.
The first renewable energy developer to be granted a solar power generation license from the Jordanian Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, Shamsuna began operation of the Aqaba Solar Farm in February of 2016 after successful connection to the country’s national electric grid.
