Saudi Vision 2030 - A new approach for audits
The licensing and classification requirements of the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia were outdated and not aligned with global best practices followed in global major touristic destinations like Dubai, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, USA and other countries. Therefore, they decided to update the process and its approach in regards to the Saudi Vision 2030.
Initial situation and requirements
The periodic audits done by the ministry's own employees at hotels and service apartments were not efficient and effective enough in terms of approach, competency and audit records to win guest confidence and to uplift the hospitality industry's service quality to attract tourists, both domestic and international. As TÜV Rheinland is known for its global footprint in the tourism sector and highly experienced technical resources the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia decided to get our support in licensing, classification and auditing for the hospitality sector in Saudi Arabia.
