CSX PTC System Deployment

Per law, CSX has undertaken a multiyear project to install a PTC system. This system satisfies the PTC mandate and is under FRA jurisdiction. This project is to provide safety program services to CSX in support of their PTC system deployment.

RSC is contracted to provide support to CSX for their FRA Part 236I-compliant safety program, processes, and safety document submissions to meet the content and schedules under the RSIA `08 statute. This work includes development of the required PTC SP, performing various hazard analyses, safety-critical design evaluation, risk assessment, operating manuals, employee training, interoperability specifications, etc. Through this relationship we are also coordinating the development of the PTC SP core elements across the Class I RRs to assure commonality of approach and content to the extent possible.

Specific project elements include: project management, development of safety submittals, coordination of FRA submittal review with the FRA, and PTC certification support.
