Initial situation and requirements
A coal-fired power plant in Poland, consisting of eight units and first commissioned in 1979, will be modernized in order to improve the availability and reliability of each unit and to extend facility lifetime by an additional 25 years. Furthermore, the modernization aims to increase the efficiency of the units and to significantly reduce plant carbon dioxide emissions.
Part of the project is to repair and modernize boilers. To secure a large investment like this, additional inspections carried out by a third party are necessary to ensure assets have been tested and are of the highest quality. Its respected reputation, extensive expertise in the field of power plants around the world and unrivaled international network made TÜV Rheinland the preferred choice.
