We are represented nationwide and internationally with our locations. In Germany alone, we employ staff at over 200 locations, and we are active in 500 locations worldwide. Our head office with more than 2,000 employees is located in Cologne. Other major locations are Berlin and Nuremberg. Internationally, the Beijing site is one of the largest with over 4,000 employees.

Cologne

More than 2,000 employees from various business areas, such as the academy, mobility, materials testing and many others, work at our location in Cologne. Our board members also have their headquarters here. At this location there are two canteens that invite you to network over a coffee or lunch. On the 18th floor there is our Innovation Space with innovative rooms to promote creative thoughts and ideas. A large number of employee parking spaces ensure a stress-free journey to the workplace.

Nuremberg

Our location in Nuremberg, in the Tillystrasse, belongs with over 700 employees to one of the largest locations in Germany. In our numerous laboratories, various product tests are carried out, from toy testing to EMC testing. The in-house canteen invites you to have lunch with your colleagues.

Germany

Nuremberg

Luminous flux measurement with an integrating sphere in our lamp laboratory. Here, the characteristic values of an energy-saving lamp are measured under defined conditions: brightness, colour temperature, power consumption or colour spectrum.

Cologne

Employees of TÜV Rheinland inspect safety-relevant areas before, during and after a match at 1 FC Köln. The inspectors fill out checklists on tablets directly on site. A team of several TÜV experts constantly communicate with each other by radio or mobile phone.

Düsseldorf

Once a year, TÜV Rheinland carries out an inspection of the car for the window cleaners outside the television tower on the Düsseldorf television tower.

Nuremberg

In our EMC laboratory, every electronic device, be it remote-controlled toys, entertainment electronics or X-ray equipment, is tested to determine whether it interferes with other electronic devices during operation or is itself susceptible to interference.

Cologne

Spectral measuring station in our solar laboratory. Solar cells generate electricity not only in the visible light range, but in the entire spectral range between ultraviolet and infrared. Here, the power generation of solar cells is measured as a function of the respective wavelengths.

Nuremberg

These air-conditioned test chambers are used to investigate which pollutants are released into the room air by materials such as foams, wood-based materials or building materials. Humidity and temperature can be changed according to requirements.

Aachen

TÜV examination in the discotheque. While the guests are dancing, the TÜV Rheinland examiner checks in conversation with the disc jockey currently working whether and how he implements the processes in compliance with the standards. In addition, legal requirements are checked on the basis of the software.

Eisenach

Safety training for drivers of dangerous goods transports on a runway at Eisenach airport. The fully loaded tanker truck travels around a tight curve at such a speed that sometimes the wheels of one side float in the air. Stable support wheels are fitted to prevent the truck from overturning.

Europe

Mont Saint Michel, France

A double head bus takes the tourists over the bridge to Mont Saint Michel. Since it cannot turn there, it goes backwards again. Thus, a bus had to be developed that can drive in both directions equally. This represents a completely new vehicle concept, which is not provided for in the traffic regulations. Therefore, TÜV Rheinland was involved in the development, testing and further development.

Bad Blumau, Austria

Inspection of the exterior appearance of the Hundertwasser Hotel Rogner by a TÜV Rheinland inspector. For example, lighting, the condition of the façade or energy-saving measures are checked. Important impressions and details are photographed as inconspicuously as possible, i.e. with a smartphone. The inspector is also responsible for checking the wellness facility.

Sao Paulo, Brazil

TÜV Rheinland's lamp laboratory with over 7000 bulbs for testing service life. The standard is at least 6000 hours. At 2000 hours the luminous intensity must be constant up to 5%.

Castro, Chile

The southernmost TÜV Rheinland test centre in the world is located here. In Chile, all vehicles have to undergo a general inspection once a year. Almost 20,000 vehicles are tested here every year.

Mariana, Brazil

Iron ore open pit mining in the state of Minas Gerais. In addition to the separation of ore and rock in an old separation plant, another modern separation plant is being built under the construction management of TÜV Rheinland to magnetically filter out the iron ore.

Arequipa, Peru

For a natural gas project, we carry out infrastructure and energy audits. TÜV Rheinland's experts examine the safety measures on a construction site for laying a new natural gas pipeline.

Vila Velha, Brazil

Experts from TÜV Rheinlan carry out a quality control of a submarine cable with a length of approx. 4 km. This cable will connect a drilling platform in the Atlantic Ocean and supply it with electricity and communication.
