CSR Activities of TÜV Rheinland Japan
TÜV Rheinland Japan Ltd. is a subsidiary of TÜV Rheinland Group (Cologne, Germany), a leading provider of technical services worldwide, and has been active as an independent third-party test house in Japan since 1978.
We offer verification, inspection and certification of various products in accordance with international and national standards as well as audits for systems management certification.
The Group’s mission and guiding principle is to achieve sustainable development of safety and quality in order to meet the challenges arising from the interaction between man, technology and the environment.
TÜV Rheinland Japan engages in variety of activities to support cultural exchanges between Japan and Germany as well as to contribute to our local community. Here are some of the examples of the examples.

Girls' Day
Promotion of career in science/technology for the young female students. 6th and 5th grade female students in the local elementary schools are invited to the workshop. (Since 2013)

History Of Main Activities
- TÜV Rheinland FORUM
TÜV Rheinland Japan Ltd. opened the gallery space "TÜV Rheinland FORUM" in the Shin Yokohama Head office First floor lobby space on May 11, 2005. From the opening of the FORUM, TÜV Rheinland Japan Ltd. has supported the year-long event “Deutschland in Japan 2005/2006” and offered the space for mainly German artists who contribute to the art in Japan. Through the arts by the German artists in Japan we hope that the good relationship between two attractive countries, Germany and Japan can be passed onto the next generation. We also hope that the TÜV Rheinland FORUM can play a role in the international exchange for businesses and cultural creations.(ended in 2018)
- Lecture at schools
Our employees visit elementary school and junior-high schools in Tsuzuki-ku, Yokohama to give a lecture on German culture or product safety.
