Maximizing Efficiency and Effectiveness: Integrating Risk and Opportunity Management in QHSE
Managing risk is not an insurmountable task, continuous improvement is the key to success.
This includes incorporating risk and opportunity management into the organization's quality, health, safety, and environment (QHSE) management system.
Since 2013, ISO standards, such as ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 14001 for environmental management, and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, have embraced the concept of risk-based thinking. These QHSE management systems require organizations to contextualize their management approach to achieve specific outcomes. Given the iterative nature of risk management, which involves various activities across departments and is integral to governance and leadership, an integrated system becomes crucial for effectively managing risks and opportunities within the QHSE framework.
In this course, we will examine the interplay between QHSE (quality, health, safety, and environmental) management and EMS (environmental, health, and safety). You'll gain the skills to identify threats and opportunities, mitigate them, and ensure they adhere to global norms.
